Bursitis pain can make even simple tasks a grueling challenge. Sadly, 1 in 10,000 people suffer from bursitis every year. Bursitis can cause various symptoms in joints including:

  • Aches
  • Stiffness
  • Pain in the affected area
  • Swelling or redness
  • Loss of mobility
  • Fevers

Common causes of bursitis include repetitive motions that put pressure on the bursae, injury to the affected area, inflammatory arthritis, gout, infection, and being overweight (specifically for hip and knee bursitis).

Bursa Pain/Bone Spur

"I don't feel any pain right now." After enduring pain in her foot for years, SoftWave therapy helped a patient find relief from her bone spur.

Marcy

"That is crazy...because it doesn't hurt! You're better than Santa" Marcy had been living with chronic knee pain for years, but after discovering SoftWave Therapy, she was amazed by the results.

Chelsea

"I just felt lighter. I, for the first time in many years, didn't have pain, and the feeling that I could be able to move my body and not have that pressure any longer on my hips was a blessing...It just brought back life to me that I have been without for so many years." After dealing with chronic back and hip pain, Chelsea experiences a back pain-free life for the first time in many years after one session of SoftWave.

Non-Invasive Healing with Shockwave Therapy for Tissue and Bone Disorders

This study found that shockwave therapy promotes biological healing through mechanotransduction, activating growth factors, cytokines, and cells that promote tissue regeneration. This study also found that shockwave effectively treats non-union fractures, osteoarthritis, and avascular necrosis, improving pain and function with minimal side effects.

Shock Wave Therapy for Acute and Chronic Soft Tissue Wounds

This study investigated the feasibility and safety of using extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) for complicated, nonhealing, acute and chronic soft-tissue wounds. Two hundred and eight patients were enrolled, with treatment consisting of debridement, outpatient ESWT, and moist dressings. Of the 208 patients, 156 had 100% wound epithelialization during a mean follow-up period of 44 days, and there were no treatment-related toxicities, infections, or deterioration of any ESWT-treated wound. The study concluded that ESWT is a feasible and well-tolerated strategy for treating acute and chronic soft tissue wounds.

Single Shockwave Treatment Shows Promise in Relieving Muscle Soreness

This randomized controlled trial investigated the effects of a single administration of focused extracorporeal shock wave therapy on delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) induced by eccentric exercise. While there were no statistically significant differences between the groups in pain intensity reduction, maximum isometric voluntary force, pressure pain threshold, and daily life impairment, there were clinically relevant effects observed. The study suggests that focused extracorporeal shock wave therapy could be a potential option for relieving pain and enhancing recovery from DOMS, particularly in the midterm (72 hours) and for athletes returning to play.
