Meet Dr. Kim Hoang

Dr. Kim Hoang was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and at the age of 5, her Vietnamese parents moved to Houma, Louisiana. She was in a couple motor vehicle accidents at the age of 8 and 13 where she did not receive any treatment for her injuries . Over time, her lower back developed pain in her teenager years and never understood why, as it turned out, she developed disc herniations. Dr. Kim also developed a couple disc herniations in the neck during an accident 2012.

Dr. Kim Hoang attended Louisiana Srate University in 1995 where she knew she wanted to be a doctor . Dr. Kim saw a chiropractor in the New Orleans area who helped her with her low back pain and knew she that’s what she wanted to be. In 2000, she graduated from Parker University in Dallas, Texas and has been practicing in the New Orleans area since 2001. She is the owner of Hoang Chiropractic Center/ Disc Center of America Metairie & Gretna and passionate about working with patients with disc herniations and neuropathy. • What is the SoftWave treatment process like?

SoftWave is a fast and convenient non-invasive procedure that usually lasts 10-15 minutes, with no downtime required for recovery. First, ultrasound gel is applied, then the SoftWave device is gently placed to deliver shock waves to the injured area. Most patients feel a gentle tapping or pulsing sensation, while some patients may experience mild pain or discomfort. The use of anesthesia or numbing agents is not necessary.
