Dr. John Reuter

Meet Dr. John Reuter

Dr. John Reuter is a homegrown Midwesterner, born and raised in the Chicagoland area. He knew he wanted to be a chiropractor from the age of 13. Now, he is living his dream of assisting individuals and families in the community to live their best lives through a chiropractic lifestyle.

At a very young age, Dr. John was diagnosed with allergies to pretty much everything outdoors and ADD/ADHD. He received six allergy shots three times a week and was prescribed Adderall for his Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorders.

Going to see a chiropractor completely changed Dr. John’s life. After consistent chiropractic care, his allergies were practically gone. His attention in school improved by leaps and bounds, and he no longer needed any allergy shots or medication.

Softwave Treatment is the most advanced, highly effective, non-invasive treatment cleared by the FDA to treat degenerative conditions and chronic pain. Softwave can be explained as a min lithotripsy device that delivers the most effective Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) available. During treatment, the ESWT, produces high-energy sound waves that are applied to painful and injured areas of the body to dramatically stimulate healing and regeneration. It works by helping to stimulate and improve your body’s own healing capability by enhancing blood circulation and has been shown to stimulate increased stem production (see link below) to regenerate damaged tissue. Beneficial effects are often experienced in only one or two treatments and there is no downtime! This non-surgical treatment can eliminate pain, restore mobility and significantly improve a person’s quality of life. It is a vitally important stand-alone or addition to our regenerative medicine program, which includes exosomes and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatments. When paired with other regenerative treatments, ESWT maximizes regenerative healing.

Everyone at Universal Wellness Source is beyond great! Such a nice and friendly staff, it really makes my appointments enjoyable. I’ve gotten slightly more flexible and I’ve noticed a boost in my energy–which is great! So glad I made the decision to come here.

I had been dealing with lower back pain for as long as I can remember. There were times I couldn’t walk or even get out of bed. Luckily, Universal Wellness Source is close to my home so I decided to check out chiropractic. The results have been amazing. The pain in my back is A LOT better.

SoftWave FAQs

  • What results should I expect from SoftWave Therapy?

If you are a candidate for treatment, SoftWave therapy can provide both immediate and long-lasting results. After one SoftWave session, patients typically experience a 20-50% reduction in pain and improvement in mobility, lasting from a few hours to several days. Some patients require multiple sessions before experiencing improvement.

To determine if SoftWave is a suitable treatment for you, schedule a $69 New Patient Appointment, where you will receive one SoftWave treatment session, and the provider will assess whether further treatment is appropriate.

Unlike pain medications and injections, SoftWave treatment seeks to activate the body’s natural healing process at the cellular level to deliver genuine and long-lasting results.

  • What is the SoftWave treatment process like?

SoftWave is a fast and convenient non-invasive procedure that usually lasts 10-15 minutes, with no downtime required for recovery. First, ultrasound gel is applied, then the SoftWave device is gently placed to deliver shock waves to the injured area. Most patients feel a gentle tapping or pulsing sensation, while some patients may experience mild pain or discomfort. The use of anesthesia or numbing agents is not necessary. Effective communication with the provider during treatment can help identify treatment hotspots and track progress.
